About
Clef is Cloudflare's family of open-weight multimodal decision models, trained by the Workers AI team and released 2026-10-01. A Clef model reads a state (text, JSON, or images) plus a schema of typed questions (noul, choice, or score) and returns a probability for every allowed option in one non-autoregressive pass, with no free-form text generation. Two sizes ship: Clef (27B, post-trained from Qwen3.8-27B) for highest-precision decisions and Clef-flash (9B, post-trained from Qwen3.5-9B) for latency-critical hot-path decisions. Both have a 64K (65,536-token) context on Workers AI, accept up to four images per request, follow the System One API so Jev integrations can switch by changing endpoint and model, and are published on Hugging Face under Apache 2.0. A peer of TypeSafe Jev, it gets its own Cloudflare family rather than sitting under system-one, jev, or a Qwen family.
