About
Luminous is Aleph Alpha's original family of large language models, offered in three sizes: luminous-base (13B parameters), luminous-extended (30B), and luminous-supreme (70B). They are decoder-only autoregressive models with rotary position embeddings, trained on a curated multilingual corpus in English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish, from about 400B tokens for the smallest model to about 588B for the largest. The models were offered through Aleph Alpha's Playground and API, which also provided question answering, embeddings, summarization, and multimodal features alongside text completion.
