About
Apple's server foundation model is the larger, server-based language model behind Apple Intelligence, running on Apple silicon servers through Private Cloud Compute. Apple introduced it on June 10, 2024, alongside an approximately 3-billion-parameter on-device model, to power features such as writing and refining text and summarizing notifications. The 2025 update made it a mixture-of-experts model that understands image and text inputs, generates text, supports tool calls, and is designed for 15 languages.
