DALL-E 2 is OpenAI's second-generation image generation model, released April 2022. Introduced inpainting (editing specific image regions) and outpainting (extending images beyond their borders). Supported resolutions up to 1024×1024. Trained on a refined CLIP-guided diffusion approach. Deprecated with OpenAI API shutdown scheduled for May 12, 2026.
