About
GPT-Rosalind is OpenAI's frontier reasoning model purpose-built for life sciences research, including biology, drug discovery, translational medicine, genomics analysis, and biodefense. OpenAI's June 3, 2026 capabilities update merged GPT-5.5-style agentic coding and tool-use strengths into Rosalind while improving life-sciences performance; OpenAI reported it outperformed GPT-5.5 across tested life-sciences domains and used 31% fewer tokens for genomics analyses. Access remains restricted to qualified researchers and public-health partners through trusted access programs, including the Rosalind Biodefense program for US government and allied organizations.
