About North Small Translate 1.0
An open-weights sparse mixture-of-experts machine translation model from Cohere with 218B total and 25B active parameters (128 experts, 8 active per token), built on the same foundation as Command A+. Trained as a non-reasoning model for translation across 50 languages, with a 16K input and 16K output context. Released for research and non-commercial use under CC BY-NC 4.0; submitted to the WMT26 General MT shared task as Cohere CAT+.
