Palmyra Base is a high-performance 5-billion parameter language model created by Writer, designed to excel in complex tasks such as sentiment classification and summarization. Known for its speed and efficiency, it is ideal for quick processing applications. While primarily trained on English text, it includes a minor component of non-English data and employs a causal language modeling approach akin to GPT-3 for predicting text sequences. Despite its text generation abilities, fact-checking is advised as it may not always be accurate. The model is available as an open-source download on Hugging Face but is no longer maintained or supported by Writer.
