Moondream Parakeet Redux is a 1.58-bit (ternary) speech-to-text model from Moondream (M87 Labs), released September 22, 2026 with Parakeet Ultra. Built from NVIDIA's parakeet-tdt-0.6b-v3 with the same architecture and tokenizer, it sets every encoder weight to -1, 0 or +1, shrinking the model from 1.2 GB to 178 MB across 25 languages. Weights are on Hugging Face under CC BY 4.0.
