About

Smaug-Humanizer is Abacus.AI's open-weight 12B model that rewrites AI-generated text so it reads like a person wrote it, released October 26, 2026. It keeps the facts, numbers, names and layout of the input and changes the wording, rhythm and voice, for inputs up to about 500 words per call. It is a LoRA fine-tune of Google's Gemma 4 12B base, trained with SFT on 3,676 rewrite pairs and then 200 steps of GRPO. Weights are on Hugging Face at abacusai/Smaug-Humanizer under Apache 2.0, with a GGUF build.
