Cohere Embed 5 Fast is the faster, lighter tier of Cohere's Embed 5 embedding family, released September 30, 2026. It embeds text, images and mixed documents such as PDFs with a 128K-token context and output dimensions from 256 to 2,048, and Pro and Fast share one embedding space so a corpus indexed with Pro can be queried with Fast. The Cohere API serves it as embed-v5.0-fast at $0.08 per 1M tokens.
