First-party positioning: cheapest, fastest, and most capable small model yet; built for high-volume, cost-sensitive work (summaries, compaction, classification, routing, subagents, live support, browser/computer use). First Haiku with effort controls and adaptive thinking (default effort medium). Claude API id claude-haiku-5-5. Prompt-length pricing: ≤100K tokens $0.10/$0.50 per 1M input/output; >100K $0.50/$2.50. Cache (≤100K): 5m write $0.125, 1h write $0.20, read $0.01; (>100K): $0.625/$1/$0.05. Batch API 50% off.
