Preferred Networks (PFN) is a leading Japanese AI startup that develops the PLaMo family of large language models trained on English and Japanese data. PLaMo 2 adopts the Samba hybrid architecture combining Mamba2 SSM with sliding window attention, while PLaMo 3 NICT was developed in collaboration with Japan's National Institute of Information and Communications Technology.
