GPT-Live-1 mini is the smaller of OpenAI's two original GPT-Live full-duplex voice models, launched July 8, 2026 alongside GPT-Live-1. It listens and speaks at the same time, handles interruptions and turn-taking, and hands deeper work to GPT-5.5 Instant in the background. Access is through ChatGPT only: it launched as the default ChatGPT Voice model for Free users and is not offered through the OpenAI API. OpenAI names GPT-Live-1.1 Quip as its successor.
