GPT-Live is OpenAI's family of full-duplex voice models, which listen and speak at the same time so they can follow interruptions, pauses and quick back-and-forth. For search, deeper reasoning and tool use, they hand the work to a separate backend model and keep the conversation going while it runs. The family has two generations, each with a full and a smaller model: GPT-Live-1 and GPT-Live-1 mini (July 2026), then GPT-Live-1.1 and GPT-Live-1.1 Quip (October 2026). All four are ChatGPT's voice models, and GPT-Live-1 is also available in the OpenAI API.
